Since June 2018 NJ Sports betting is now completely legal! And what excitement did that create all over the Garden State. Indeed, ever since the supreme court ruled against the PASPA act, we’re seeing many bookmakers ink deals with land-based casinos and racetracks. And all of this for the benefits of sports fans! Granted that for now, most NJ Sports betting takes place offline. But we’re sure that it’s only a matter of time until online casinos offer Sportsbook.

In fact, if you’ve been following the news, you already know that Bet365 a European online sportsbook giant cut a deal with the Hard Rock. And it’s not the only one since Monmouth Park first kicked off the sports betting frenzy by inking a deal with William Hill. And not long after, it was the Meadowlands Racetrack to announce they’d offer sports betting in collaboration with The Paddy Power Betfair group.

Our review of Ocean Downs sports book in Maryland. Includes details regarding online sports betting options and services at Ocean Downs casino & sportsbook!

Who are these European giants that offer NJ Sports Betting?

Bet365, Paddy Power Betfair, and William Hill are all tier 1 companies. Which means they’re bookmakers that are worth millions. It’s worth knowing that they primarily made a name for themselves for offering great odds on horse racing and soccer. What’s more is that these companies all have land-based shops in the UK where they’re from. In fact, they’re actually huge names in the Sports Betting industry all over Europe that are trusted by many.

Additionally, it’s worth knowing that the three companies mentioned above also offer a casino product and some even offer poker too. Indeed, many chose to diversify their product portfolio to ensure they deliver the best player experience to whoever visit their sites. So they really care about their players! And obviously, they’ll really care about their business partner players’ too since it’s in their nature!

What are the key differences between these companies?

It’s the odds they offer to the players of course! Indeed, it’s worth knowing the 3 companies mentioned above all have teams of traders who observe the sports betting market. In fact, each company that offers sportsbook has a group dedicated to each sport. The trading experts are responsible not only for following the match. But they also follow the news closely, so they know when a player is injured and how this will affect the team’s performance.

Another key difference between the bookmakers’ product is their app for smartphones. In fact, all the companies mentioned above have won prizes for the excellence of their mobile products. But as for all things, it’s worth trying them out to see which one you’ll prefer once NJ Sports Betting is available on portable devices.

Which casino offer NJ Sports Betting?

As we briefly said above, currently (July 2018) there’s only a hand full of casinos that offer Sports Betting in NJ. And below you’ll find a bit more information about them.

The Borgata Casino & Spa

The Borgata casino was the first casino to offer Sports Betting on its floor in Atlantic City. In fact, the casino was quick to act since they had an old race book on their floor. Which, let’s be frank, was pretty easy to convert into a sports betting area. It’s worth knowing that their sportsbook is powered by the GVC group. And the GVC group is also the owner of Bwin, which is another huge bookie in Europe. So, if you choose to bet on sports at the Borgata, you’re in great hands!

Resorts Casino

On June 28th the Resorts casino was extremely proud to open its doors and to offer NJ Sports Betting. Granted that when Bruce Deifik cut the red ribbon the sports betting area still needed a couple of touch up. But it’s all finish now! And even if the Sports Area wasn’t 100% finished when the Casino opened, it didn’t stop Mark Walberg from placing the first bet to mark the occasion!

The Hard Rock

Mid-July, the Hard Rock was pleased to announce they now offer NJ Sports Betting on their floor. And what’s more is that the new casino has a special area dedicated to this activity. And as you know, they’ve teamed up with a Sports Betting giant bet365, so you’re guaranteed to have great odds there too!

The Golden Nugget

Also offers sports betting! In fact, the Golden Nugget was a bit late to the party since one of the owners Tilman Fertitta owns the NBA Rockets. And the new Sports Betting legislation forbids team owners from offering sportsbook in their casinos. So, to avoid any conflict of interest the market-leading casino doesn’t offer any wager on NBA games.

Where else can you place sports bets in New Jersey?

A good thing to know is that if you’re not in Atlantic City, there are a couple more places where you can join the action. Indeed, Monmouth Park Racetrack offers sports betting! And since July 15 Meadowlands Racetrack also joined the race! For now, these are the only places where you can 100% legally place a sports bet in NJ. But rest assured, the minute new sites open we’ll let you know.

Additionally, it’s worth pointing out that currently, the NJ Sports betting operates presently under temporary laws. In fact, the full legislation is expected by the end of 2018. And even if Sports betting still only has temporary laws in place. You can still bet 100% legally on your favourite team at your favourite casinos! And, perhaps once the full regulations are in place, we’ll see sportsbooks finally kick off online widely! Betting tips are widely popular in New Jersey. Where actually someone gives you betting tips to increase your chances of winning.

How did online sports betting in NJ start

In May 2018,Supreme court voted unconstitutional to prohibit sports betting on a federal level allowing states to decide on their own betting policies. NJ was one of the first states that legalized and regulated sports betting industry. Throughout the summer 2018, many companies have entered the online market allowing folks to bet safely and conveniently within the comfort of their home. Currently, individuals can bet offline, online and even using their phones. August turned out to be the busiest month of the years so far with 5 companies joining online betting market.

Draftkings Sportsbook was the first one to start on August 1st. playMGM launched its mobile app on August 22nd and was followed by Sugarhouse Sportsbook on August 23rd.Finally, FanDuel and William Hill joined the party all the way at the end of August. Other contenders launched in September. Caesars added mobile betting site to its online casino first, then 888 Sportsbook- a well know British betting and gambling giant launched in NJ. The last one to join the scene was BetStars: PokerStarNJ affiliated company designed specifically to cater for sports betting. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that most of the sportsbooks are affiliated or tied to legal NJ casinos. Lets take a closer look.

Resorts AC and DraftKings online sportsbooks

Technically Resorts was the first one on the market due to its affiliation with DraftKings Sportsbook. DraftKings offers both an application and computer betting. What’s great is that new players are offered a “nodeposit” incentive. Similar to an online casino, players can use a promo code to receive a free deposit to their betting account. Draftkings Sportsbook offers an instant free bet of up to $200.

Although Resorts did not launch its own betting company, the casino established another betting partnership with SBtech which opened its sportsbook on the premises of Resorts Casino in AC.

Sports Betting partnership of Borgata and playMGM

Although Borgata started offering sports betting in June 2018, it took 2 months for them to offer its online sports betting. Interesting enough Borgata doesn’t have a betting app under its own name, but launched under playMGM brand-which is its owner company. The app offers a range of great features and allows betting on both US-based and international sports. Basically, playMGM allows you to sign up, deposit, bet and withdraw from your smartphone. However, the best feature within this app is that it has an online wallet that is integrated with Borgata’s other digital products allowing players to transfer funds between sportsbook, online casino and poker websites.

Caesars, Harrah’s and Bally’s are not going to miss the party

Throughout the summer 2018 Caesars opened brick and mortar sports book throughout Harrah’s and Bally’s meanwhile entering a partnership with Scientific Games to provide mobile betting site. On 6. Caesars added sports betting functionality to its online casino app. Also, Caesars formed a partnership with 888Sportsbook which was launched a few days later. The logic here is pretty simple-Caesars is the license provider while 888 provides the software

Monmouth Park and William Hill betting partnership

Monmouth Park has partnered with The William Hill- a famous London based broker that is involved in betting business all over the world. William Hill launched its sports betting app on September 2nd. Although William Hill is not well known in NJ, it already operates in Nevada offering a range of online betting services, thus our team expects a lot from this partnership.
In the middle of September, William Hill has officially launched online sports betting for New Jersey players on its website

Golden Nugget is still working while SugarHouse is leading the game

Although Golden Nugget AC has a land-based sportsbook facility within the casino, Golden Nugget is yet to offer a comprehensive online betting service. At this moment Churchill Downs announced about its partnership with GN. However, it seems like Golden Nugget is merely a licensed provider rather than a full-time partner in this deal. Another company that’s affiliated to Golden Nugget is rush Street Gaming added sports betting to their platform in August allowing Sugarhouse to launch its own sportsbook(Rush Street Gaming operates Sugarhouse online casino). At the same time,

Sugarhouse can boast a complete online betting system that pretty much has it all. You can access their platform through Sugarhouse online casino portal. It should be noted that Golden Nugget was one of the last ones among legal casinos to start its online casino, so far it seems that history is just repeating itself.

FanDuel Sportsbook partners with Meadowlands Racetrack

Casinos With Sports Betting

Meadowlands Racetrack might be considered the best place for sports betting in NJ- pretty much we are talking about hundreds of people interested in sports betting every week. It’s no surprise that Meadowlands is building an impressive plan in NJ Sports betting.

The first step of a plan was a crucial partnership with Betfair US which recently finalized a purchase of FanDuel Sportsbook. FanDuel’s Brick and mortar sportsbook was opened on July 14 at the Meadowlands Racetrack meanwhile its betting software was ready by September 1. FanDuel website features a promo that will double your deposit of up to a $100

Ocean Resort Casino

Rivers Casino Online Sports Betting

Atlantic City’s newest casino- Ocean Resort Casino is not going to miss out on NJ betting market. Players can easily wager within the halls of the casino in AC. Prior to the launch of the casino, company officials highlighted that ORC will be sports betting friendly and their goal is to make it the best place for sports betting in Atlantic City. Ocean Resort Casino is partnered with William Hill, the same operator that is working with Monmouth Park, meaning there is no mobile wagering app or an online betting website to offer sports betting to NJ players

Hard Rock AC

Sugarhouse Casino Sports Betting Online

It was well known that Hard Rock is joining NJ Sports betting industry long before the official launch of the casino despite the legal restriction due to their affiliation with Miami Dolphins. In other words, Hard Rock will have to operate through a 3rd party operator. In July a deal with Bet 365 was announced. Bet365 is an English giant that is yet to enter US betting market. Nevertheless, the details of the deal are not clear since Bet365 does not operate any software or land-based sportsbook within the US territory. So far it seems that both parties are exploring their options.
